Dear Acton Youth,
It has been an honor to be the youth pastor at Acton United Methodist Church. I have loved getting to know all the students and parents involved in the youth ministry. It is with a heavy, but peaceful heart that I announce my resignation as the youth pastor effective May 31, 2007. Karen, Elisabeth, and I are moving back to Georgia to be with our families. We want our daughter to be a part of our families’ lives and that is difficult with us living in Texas. We have prayed a lot over this decision and we have felt a peace from God about moving back. It is hard to leave this place because of the great people and the love this church has shown our family. I know that God’s blessing is on the youth ministry here at Acton UMC and whoever takes my place will keep the ministry moving forward and growing. Thank you for sharing your lives and allowing me to share with you mine.
With Love,
Moose Mosteller

hey
moose
so the best rant goes on the website? i kinda doubt youll have too many contenders for that one. sometimes i go on some pretty sweet rants talking about random stuff but sometimes theyre real dumb so just by typing this im running somewhat of a risk. owell, the bigger the risk the bigger the reward, right? i cant remember what movie that is from right now. i just remember someone being like, "risk, risk, risk.....reward, reward, reward."
lame that i can't remember. however when i was typing risk three times in a row i obviously thought of the game risk and you know what happened last time we played during the citywide d-now. i like to call it righteous domination i believe. righteous domination reminds me of dodgeball. i watched that movie tonight, but more specifically the dodgeball tournament fundraiser we're going to have/ need to organize. im real excited about that. this rant is pretty pointless i dont know if its solid enough to get me the gold, im guess im just counting on the potential lack of competition in this contest. i cant think of anything really worth ranting about anymore. i went back to laser quest last night with some pals, there was this one guy who obviously just lives there and he dominated us all more than one can even comprehend when one hears the words righteous domination.
plus the answer is now a denver nugget. so the top two scorers in the league are now on the same team, but one of them is suspended for 14 more games.
loser. i suppose im done now. you have a good day. merry christmas to all and to all a good night.
im off to bed

I give
thanks for my family and the new family I have on the way. I give
thanks to God for everything that has happened in the past year,
moving to Texas, staring a new job, learning names for about 100
youth, my first mission trips, riding the titan, and learning that
I will be a father. It has been a up and down ride, but through it
all God has been with me. So I give thanks to God for His presence
in my life in everything. Thank you Father. Amen.
Fall Retreat

Stuff
It is
amazing how busy students are these days. They are involved in
after school sports, plays, choirs, debate, travel sports teams,
and many other activities that keep them busy from morning to night
each week. Students need to learn to stop, rest, and reconnect with
God. Mark 6:31 “Jesus said, ‘Come off by yourselves;
let’s take a break and get a little rest.’ For there
was constant coming and going. They didn’t even have time to
eat.” Jesus knew the importance of putting away from the rat
race of life and finding rest. This past weekend the youth had
their annual Fall Retreat at Glen Lake Camp. Our time was spent in
prayer, fellowship, studying passage from the Bible, and learning
to rest. Our students had fun and I hope learned the importance of
stopping and spend time with God. Check out photos from fall
retreat here.
